Burnham business owner abused online

A business owner in Burnham-on-Sea says she’s received abuse online for reopening after a customer told them he’d tested positive for Covid-19 at the weekend.

The lighthouse Kitchen and Carvery, which has a 3.5 rating on Trip Advisor who remain closed at this time, received the information and immediately put the governments “track and trace” guidelines into action to contact anyone who may have come into contact with the person. Their staff have all been tested with negative results being returned and the venue is undergoing a deep clean.

The Vape Escape bar closed as a precaution for a but is now open again, after test results for all its staff came back negative.

The Director of Public Health at Somerset County Council, Trudi Grant, has praised local businesses for their swift response.
