Bridgwater Talking News is still providing its weekly service of audio recordings of the local newspapers for the blind and partially sighted during the pandemic.
Although they normally distribute recordings by post on USB sticks because of the current restrictions, the weekly recordings are available on their website at www.bridgwatertalkingnews.org.uk – via Amazon’s Alexa, ‘Play my talking newspaper’
You can also listen by telephone with a local call to 01278 247 347.
It is also available on the “My Talking Newspaper App” developed by the British Wireless for the Blind Fund.
This app can be downloaded by users to their own smart devices free of charge from both Apple and Android stores. It is available to people with a variety of difficulties reading text, such as dyslexia – not just the blind and partially sighted.
We hope to be able to resume postal service as soon as the current pandemic restrictions are removed.
We want as many of our listeners to continue to benefit from what we do so please can you give us a few mentions
If you know of anyone who would receive the audio versions of the local newspapers every week when we restart postal delivery- Let us know, it’s free. More at www.bridgwatertalkingnews.org.uk
